The variety of these systems can seem bewildering to someone who has never had to go through water treatment installation.

You don’t need to worry, however, since it’s our job to help you sort through the different options and to test your water to find out what contaminants are in it that you’ll want removed. One of the most common options for homes looking for a wide-ranging solution to water quality issues is the reverse osmosis water filtration system.

How Reverse Osmosis Filtration Work

Reverse osmosis is the process by which water is forced through a semipermeable membrane due to differences in water pressure. A reverse osmosis filtration system has two separate chambers in it, divided by the semipermeable membrane. One side is the incoming water from the municipal system, the one that contains contaminants. This side is kept at a higher pressure than the opposite side, which leads to the rest of the home’s freshwater plumbing. The high pressure forces the water to move through the semipermeable membrane, which is so fine that almost the only thing that can pass through it is water molecules. The membrane captures the contaminants and the filtered water continues into the plumbing system.

This is a simplified version of reverse osmosis. Most reverse osmosis systems use multiple chambers to move the water through from three to six stages of purification and filtration. Because reverse osmosis will remove some beneficial minerals from the water (such as smaller amounts of calcium and magnesium), some systems come with a re-mineralization filter to add these minerals back into the water supply.

Is a Reverse Osmosis Filtration System Right for You?

We recommend reverse osmosis water treatment systems for many homes because of the large number of impurities they remove, which includes dangerous pesticides, biological contaminants, foul-smelling chemicals, and hard metals like arsenic and cadmium. However, they aren’t right for every home, and they must have professional installation or else they can throw off water pressure in the house because they’re too powerful.

A reverse osmosis system may simply be too powerful for a home’s specific needs, and standard water filters or purifiers can do as good a job. When you work with our water treatment specialists, they’ll go through the different options available and give you an honest assessment about which will do the best job for your home’s needs. We may recommend water softeners, UV water purifiers, or charcoal filters—or we may tell you that reverse osmosis is the best all-around solution.

Get Started With Better Quality Water

It’s easy to enjoy fresh, clean, and safe water in your home: get in touch with our water treatment pros and they’ll get started with testing the water around your house. You’ll receive a report about what’s in your water and we can offer recommendations from there.

Saddleback Plumbing Heating & Air has served Orange County since 1981. Talk to us today about installing a water treatment system for your house.

One of the most common options for homes looking for a wide-ranging solution to water quality issues is the reverse osmosis water filtration system.

[214
69,354
post-3073","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-water-treatment","tag-orange-county","tag-reverse-osmosis-filtration-system
["GET
