Signs You Need a New Furnace

Home | Blog | Published on October 24th, 2016

You can make your furnace last quite a while, provided you take proper care of it. However, no amount of repairs and maintenance can make a system last forever. Sooner or later, you’re going to need a new furnace. If your furnace is not up to the task of keeping you warm through another winter, it’s important that you replace it now. Otherwise, you run the risk of it breaking down on you in the middle of a cold winter day. Read on for some of the signs that you need a new furnace.

Bills

As a furnace gets older, it will start to accumulate more wear and tear. This will cause a decline in efficiency over time. As the system’s efficiency declines, it will need to operate for longer and longer periods of time in order to compensate. This will cause the cost of operating your furnace to skyrocket. If your furnace is costing much more than it normally should to operate, it may be because you need a new furnace.

Repairs

All furnaces need repairs every once in a while. Older furnaces, though, have much more wear on the various parts that make up their systems. This makes it more likely for problems to occur more often. If you need to repair your furnace more than once a year, it’s time to install a new system.

Age

A furnace is manufactured to last around 15 years. You can keep a furnace operating past that age, but it will be very cost-ineffective. If you want to save money in the long run, the best thing to do is to install a new furnace once your current one gets older than 15 years.

Saddleback Plumbing offers a full range of furnace installation services throughout Ladera Ranch, CA. Call today for an appointment.
