It may not feel like it yet, but we’re almost to the end of summer. Before long, you’re going to be relying on your furnace to keep warm.
We’re getting to the end of summer, here, but there are still a few weeks to go before the weather really starts cooling off. You may think that your air conditioner can just coast the rest of the season, without you really paying too much attention to how it’s operating.
Chances are, you use at least a couple of gas-burning appliances in your home. Whether it’s a furnace, heater, or some other appliance, you probably rely on natural gas to keep part of your systems up and running.
Some parts of the country are already preparing for winter, as the days start to cool off. That’s not the case here in California, though, where September is often the hottest month of the year.
You should never ignore fluid dripping from your air conditioner; it’s never a good sign for the system. However, there are a couple of different things that a leak could mean.
Fall is just around the corner, and that means it will soon be time for heating maintenance. You don’t want to be left out in the proverbial cold when winter comes, so make sure to schedule preventive maintenance for your heating system before the temperature drops too low.
Keeping cool isn’t the only thing you need to worry about during the summer season. Indoor air quality plays a big part in determining your overall health and comfort all year round.
Water heaters can last quite a while, if they are properly taken care of. No amount of care will make them last forever, though.
Do you know how to replace the air filter in your air conditioner? If not, you’d better learn or have a professional take care of it for you.
