Hydronic Baseboard System Services in Orange County by Saddleback
Hydronic heating is an option quickly growing in popularity for homeowners throughout Orange County as it offers cleaner, more efficient heating for your entire home. To distribute heat produced by the boiler, hydronic baseboard systems are available that offer a number of clear benefits over other systems on the market.
If you around Mission Viejo and are interested in having a new hydronic baseboard system installed in your home, call Saddleback Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning today to discuss your options with a professional HVAC contractor.
How Hydronic Baseboard Systems Work
A hydronic heating system works by heating water in a boiler and then distributing that heated water (or in some cases steam) through pipes to each room of your home. This process is effective in homes that don’t have room for full ductwork and is very efficient as a heating source. However, once the water is heated and distributed, the heat in that water needs to be spread throughout the house. This is done through baseboards.
A baseboard draws cool air into the system through the lower vents and heats it against the warm pipes coming from your boiler. The air is then moved back into the room through the upper vents where it can heat the room.
While the same basic idea has been around for nearly 100 years, the technology has developed rapidly in recent years to provide more efficient, even heating than radiators were ever able to provide. Hydronic baseboards can be zoned easily to provide multi–thermostat control, they minimize the air flow in your house so you worry less about allergens or build up in ductwork, and they use a durable boiler as a heating source. Maintenance is also minimal, with just one annual checkup recommended on the boiler.
Beginning the Hydronic Baseboard System Installation Process in Irvine?
Call Saddleback Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning if you’re ready to start. Ideally, baseboard installation is done during construction or renovation. Because pipes must be run from a central boiler to the rooms in which the baseboards will be installed, it requires work behind the walls of your home. This can be done post–construction or renovation, but the work will be more invasive.
For this reason, it is very important that you only hire a professional who has specific experience working with baseboard hydronic heating systems. The risk of damage to existing pipes or electrical work is too great to attempt to renovate alone or hire someone without extensive training and experience installing such systems.
